Recommend a Friend - Terms and Conditions

A recommendation will be deemed to be valid if made in either of the two ways on the previous web page, and providing the candidate recommended is not previously registered with SCI.

It is the responsibility of the person making the recommendation to ensure that SCI holds current contact details to enable SCI to send a recommendation certificate.

A recommendation will remain valid for a period of 6 months and expires on the date entered on the recommendation certificate.

Once SCI have successfully placed the recommended candidate and providing their commencement date falls before the expiry date entered on the recommendation certificate, then SCI will pay a recommendation fee as follows:

  • If the recommended candidate is placed in to a permanent position, or fixed term contract position of 12 months or more, then SCI will pay a recommendation fee of £100
  • If the recommended candidate is placed in to a temporary contract position, or a fixed term contract position of less than 12 months, then SCI will pay a recommendation fee of £25.

On the successful placement of the candidate by SCI, we will contact you to inform you that your recommendation has been successful.

SCI will pay the recommendation fee due by cheque payable to the person named on the recommendation certificate. Such payments will only be made once the candidate has completed their first 3 months in their new position, and providing the Client of SCI has settled their account.

SCI will only pay one recommendation fee per candidate recommended.

SCI will only pay a recommendation fee on production of a valid recommendation certificate relating to the successful candidate and any fee will only be made payable to the person named on the certificate as the recommender.

It is your responsibility to make any necessary declaration of any income derived under this scheme to the Inland Revenue or other relevant body.

In the unlikely event that the same candidate is recommended by two people, SCI will consider the person who makes the recommendation first to be the recommender
