Clinical Research Specialist – ITU and Renal
Our client is developing an exciting and disruptive range of medical device treatments for liver disease and is about to enter Phase II clinical trials in ICUs at centres both in the UK and Europe.
As part of their continuing expansion, they now wish to appoint an experienced Clinical Research Specialist who will assist with the work of the clinical team and help to support the trial on behalf of the company.
The key element of this position is educational – clinical education and education regarding how to perform the technical procedure. This will likely involve clinical support of individual cases and troubleshooting of problems as they arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedure to meet, comply with, and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of the company product.
-Establish strong relationships with key physicians, the clinical team and ancillary staff.
-Maintain a clear understanding of customer requirements and clinical applications by visiting the clinical trial sites as prearranged.
-Analyse monthly trajectories versus plan versus KPIs and initiate/follow short term programs to manage variances.
-Maintain current knowledge about assigned products and services as well as competitive products and disease states.
-Provide availability for assignments delivering clinical support and training for the company system and device.
-Consistently communicate new ideas and potential improvements to the line manager
-Educate and train the clinical team and ancillary staff relating to the system. This is achieved through one to one sessions, in-service education programs, seminars etc.
Ensure superior customer service delivery at each clinical site.
-Participation in the on-call rota.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
-Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent
-Must be able to communicate (both oral and written) in English
-Industrial clinical experience in either ITU or Renal nursing
-Effective communication skills, including ability to interact with clinical and ancillary staff
-Effective teaching skills with the ability to translate instructions clearly and to take the lead if needed
