Technical Development Chemist – Personal Care

Our South East based client is a distributor of specialty Cosmetic and Toiletry products and raw materials. They are actively seeking to recruit for a Technical Development Chemist. 


Duties for this role will include:


• Investigating new products to assess their functionality and possible applications

• Evaluating new and interesting technologies applicable to Personal Care products

• Developing formulations to demonstrate the benefits of our products

• Creating new formulations in response to customer briefs

• Developing Company strategy on product promotion, and sourcing new products

• Developing Trends presentations supported by formulations

• Communicating complex technical information clearly and concisely

• Providing information, presentations and formulations for UK and Poland Sales teams

• Visiting customers within both the UK and Polish sales teams

• Travelling worldwide to technical exhibitions/symposia and to visit suppliers 


Candidates should possess the following skills/attributes:


• A degree in a scientific subject

• Knowledge of cosmetic and toiletry formulations

• Previous industrial experience of formulation chemistry, particularly within cosmetics, toiletries or personal care products, is highly desirable

• A scientific approach to problem solving

• Commercial awareness


Role: Permanent

Location: South East

Salary: up to £20,000 (depending on previous skills and experience)
