Our client is an innovator in genomic analysis technologies. They provide world-class genetics research solutions to leading clinical and academic research institutions. Their next generation sequencing (NGS) products deliver high-quality, high-throughput genetic analysis, enabling accurate identification of the causative variation underlying genetic disease.


They are seeking a Field Application Support Manager to be responsible for directing all product support and customer training in Europe, managing a team of Field Application Specialists supporting the sales team in a range of cytogenetic and NGS instrumentation. In addition to management of the team, the manager will be expected to also provide direct customer support as required


  • Develop and maintain exceptionally high levels of customer support throughout European, Middle and Far Eastern markets
  • Provide effective training, coaching and management to a team of Field Application Scientists
  • Provide ongoing technical support for existing customers
  • Understand customer needs and application of products for cytogenetic/molecular genetic aCGH and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Manage Early Access placements of new products
  • Feedback information to Marketing and R&D teams that help develop future products
  • Travel extensively throughout EMEA to visit customers and attend appropriate exhibitions
  • Work with the Marketing and Commercial  teams  to ensure the highest levels of  customer service to existing services accounts


This is a key role within the European commercial team as it requires a great deal of customer interaction, scientific understanding and empathy with the needs of the clients.


You will have:

  • Sound understanding of molecular genetics, a knowledge of Cytogenetics, Molecular Biology, Microarray, NGS and FISH applications and technologies
  • Laboratory experience in molecular genetic techniques
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • IT literate and numerate.
  • Understanding of CAP and other clinical lab accreditations



  • Min. 3 years’ experience as a Field Application Specialist
  • Experience of successfully developing and managing a team
  • Experience in a wide range of cytogenetic/molecular genetic techniques post first degree
  • Hands-On skills in working in a cytogenetic/molecular genetic laboratory running arrays/NGS (Constitutional/Cancer)


Role: Permanent

Location: flexible, ideally central/south east England
