Our client provides world-class genetics research solutions to leading clinical and academic research institutions. They have a new position within its European Commercial team for a field-based Field Application Specialist. The person will be responsible for product support and customer training in the UK and Europe supporting the sales team primarily in FISH family of cytogenetic/molecular genetic products


The main purpose of the Field Application Specialist is to train and support the company’s expanding customer base in their cytogenetic/molecular genetic FISH family of oncology products.


Reporting to the European Service Manager, the incumbent of this position will be required to:


·         Work with the European Commercial team in a pre and post-sales support role primarily for FISH oncology products

·         Train on the company FISH products at customer sites including laboratory work in both the Cancer and Constitutional disciplines

·         Understand customer needs and application of FISH products for the areas of oncology cytogenetic/molecular genetics

·         Feedback information to Marketing and R&D teams that help develop future oncology products

·         Work with the Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure the highest levels of customer service to existing accounts

·         Provide ongoing technical support for existing customers

·         Manage Early Access placements of new products

·         Travel extensively throughout Europe, Middle and

Far East

to visit customers, attend appropriate exhibitions and support local distributors

·         Work closely with the Distribution network providing support where appropriate


The successful candidate will have proven molecular genetic/cytogenetic laboratory experience with a sound understanding of cancer cytogenetics and molecular genetics. The role requires an organised self-starter with a “can do” approach You’ll be a problem solver, and a good communicator with excellent English and German technical language skills. You’ll have the ability to empathise with a broad range of people within the genetic community
