Project Leader - Lateral Flow Diagnostics
Our client is a highly respected manufacturer of lateral flow and ELISA diagnostics, also providing contract research and manufacturing capabilities to their extensive client base of large pharma, biotechs, academic and healthcare organisations. As part of their continued expansion, they now wish to appoint two experienced research scientists to their growing team.
You will support projects from proof of concept to final product release, delivering diagnostic assay(s) which meet customer design input requirements, on time and on budget, adhering to the Design Control Process.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- excellent scientific method development skills,
- trained in lean six sigma techniques
- experience of people management and development
- ability to contribute to compilation of required project documentation: science reports, design control reports, SOPs, Batch Records, training plans and records, manufacturing transfer, Risk Assessments etc. for DHF/Tech File with the Quality Manager
- ability to contribute to the scientific knowledge about the disease area working in and maintain up to date awareness of developments in the field. Delivering a market appropriate assay.
- Ability to complete lab books, SOPs, Batch Records and other Quality Documents in an accurate and timely fashion. Compliance and observance of all safety issues e.g. COSHH assessments & Biosafety.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Technical experience in development of rapid diagnostics, being successful and creative in assay development. They will have the ability to remain at the cutting edge of Lateral Flow development through literature, through networks with Lateral Flow internal and external experts.
- Project management skills, including Time Management;
- Lean six sigma qualified
- People management exposure
- Experience of Design Control Process; QC/QA/RA; Compliance; Tech Transfer experience
- Effective Use of IT skills including MS project, Excel, & Powerpoint
- Experience of using peer-review literature, attending seminars/conferences, speaking with scientific and clinical KOLs.
Candidates should have a proven record of effective applied scientific creativity in the field of healthcare diagnostics (essential). Experience in biochemistry, immunodiagnostics and applied industrial research is also essential. An Honours Degree (or equivalent) in science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is expected.
