Laboratory Analyst, Mass Spectrometry
Temporary maternity cover to end December 2018
Salary up to £22,000 per annum pro rata

Our Client is the leader in Food Technology training and Development and provides scientific, technical and legislative support to the food, drink and allied industries. Their services and expertise are in high demand throughout the industry and many of their clients are household names. The group operates from three sites and this opportunity would be based at their Surrey location.
They are seeking a talented laboratory analyst with at least 2 years experience in using GC-MS and HPLC-MS analytical instrumentation. Some experience working in the food and beverage sector is preferred although training with alcoholic beverage analysis will be provided.
This role is to provide maternity cover to the end of 2018. Duties and day to day activities would be as follows
• Carry out analysis of beer and brewing raw materials according to instructions, within agreed timescales using GC-MS and HPLC-MS analytical instrumentation and work with the LIMS system
• Maintain full and up to date records of all work performed manually and automated, and all aspects of quality control
• Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of laboratory equipment.
• General housekeeping
• Learning new analytical techniques as required
If you have the skills and experience we are looking for applications are invited from candidates with a BSc in Chemistry (or related subject) together with previous suitable skills and experience - he / she MUST have excellent GC-MS and HPLC-MS Mass Spec knowledge and skills.
