Laboratory Analyst, Wine and Spirits
Role: Temporary (12 months)
Location: South East

Our client is a prestigious consultancy company working within research, new product development, analysis and sensory testing and providing advice and training to the food and beverage industry. They have a solid reputation in the Food and Beverage Sector for providing their expertise and training across the sector and have members and clients from many major blue-chip companies and household names. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced laboratory analyst to provide maternity cover for 12 months in their Wine and Spirits section. This is a busy laboratory and requires the successful candidate to be able to work in rapid turnaround times. An interest in wine and spirits is advantage in this role and it would suit somebody with good analytical skills who can work in a busy environment.
You will be expected to provide technical support and assistance to the wine and spirits team and deliver analytical results using existing methods and work with the LIMS system.
Your main duties would be to carry out the analyses according to existing methods within agreed timescale and ensuring results are in the LIMS systems. You will maintain full and up to date records of all work performed manually or automated and all aspects of Quality control. You will be expected to calibrate and maintain the equipment and monitor as per the protocols set. General housekeeping and learning of new analytical techniques will be required along with a working knowledge of techniques used in this environment.
You will have
A degree in a relevant science subject and relevant experience
Experience working accurately and within specific time frames
A high degree of computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be familiar with LIMS systems
A high level of practicality and a team-oriented approach
Good communication skills as you will be expected to communicate not only with internal colleague but also clients by email and telephone as required
A high degree of personal responsibility to be accountable for your own work and the implications of any errors on the business
Operate to a very high standard and take pride in your work to ensure the company maintains its status as a leader in its field
