Our client is a large consultancy company working within research, new product development, analysis and sensory testing and providing advice and training to the food and beverage industry.  As a result of their continued growth and expansion a role has arisen for an Assistant Brewer in their Brewing Services Dept

 

The department focusses on alcoholic beverages but also works with raw materials and soft drinks  for its clients.  A wide variety of activities are covered in this department such as sensory, pilot brewing and malting facilities to support client’s projects and new product developments, engineering, microbiology and training.

 

You will assist in the brewery pilot plant with a variety of projects and could be asked to assist with other work within the brewing services department

 

Your main duties will be:-

 

  • Cleaning and maintaining the brewery, stores and cold rooms to a high standard. 
  • Taking measurements and recording data
  • Moving kegs, malt sacks and ingredients so it is essential that you are physically fit
  • Learning the brewing processes and performing brewing tasks

 

You will need:-

 

  • GCSEs in Maths, English and Science
  • A genuine interest in brewing with knowledge of brewing processes preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to undertake a number of tasks and prioritise accordingly
  • Good communication skills
  • Can Do approach and able to turn your hand to any task
