Our Client is the leader in Food Technology training and Development and provides scientific, technical and legislative support to the food, drink and allied industries. Their services and expertise are in high demand throughout the industry and many of their clients are household names.  The group operates from three sites and this opportunity would be based at their picturesque Gloucestershire location.


An opportunity has arisen for a Microscopy Analyst. You will be responsible for a small team of analysts who routinely work with foreign body identification, food structure and packaging materials.


You will have knowledge of a variety of analysis techniques in particular:-


  • Light Microscopy
  • FT-IR Spectroscopy
  • SEM
  • X-Ray Microanalysis


Main duties of the role would be:-


  • To undertake microscopic investigations of glass fragments and other foreign bodies, food packaging and food structure and other materials using light and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray microanalysis and FT-IR analysis after appropriate training, and carry out other technical operations in accordance with the position as instructed
  • Interpret analytical data
  • Prepare technical reports on foreign body identification and other samples for food industry clients
  • If required, to book in samples and send out reports


This role would suit a food science or microbiology graduate with a year experience using these techniques which could have been gained during placement.

Salary:- Negotiable dependent on experience
