An opportunity has arisen with our East Anglia based client for a Lab Manager to be part of their busy accredited laboratory. Reporting Directly to the General Manager you will be actively involved in managing the smooth routine operation of the Department offering a great client experience and delivering high quality rapid turnaround services to their clients.
Your role will be to assist the General Manager and Technical Manager in managing all the technical and related activities within the laboratory and communicate with clients, develop methods and validate methods to ensure the services offered keep pace with market demands and needs.
You will manage the laboratory staff and ensure there is adequate cover to fulfil client needs and recruit where needed new staff ensuring all staff are appropriately trained and skilled to keep the high standard of work expected by clients.
You will be the responsible person for sign off and approval of data and results and certificate for clients and ensure that all Quality Management protocols are adhered to.
You should have experience if IQC, IRM, QA regimes and EQA as you will be responsible for the adherence to these and ensuring they are performed to the relevant schedules.
You will ensure that all resources are available such as reagents, media, chemicals and consumables to fulfil the laboratory requirements and that staff training records are kept up to date.
You will be responsible for adherence to H&S policies and ensuring PPE equipment is suitable and available and you will ensure all risk assessments and COSHH procedures are completed and updated.
You will ensure that all registrations are reviewed, and that client’s requirements are fully understood before any test work is started and you will ensure that all samples are suitable for analysis. Traceability is key, and you will be responsible for ensuring that full records are available to trace each test to the performing person and equipment.
You will be a key part of the auditing process and work with the site quality team ensuring corrective actions are taken whilst making sure of compliance with client, accreditation and procedural requirements.
You will be a key part of improvement ensuring that KPI data and performance is at its best and that any efficiencies and improvements can be implemented as the need arises.
