Technologist - Food Processing and Production

Salary: Circa £18K
Our Client is a leading light in Food and Beverage with a long history of providing scientific and technical support to the industry. Their activities include safety testing, investigative work and research work to ensure they provide the highest standard of expertise to their clients. Their expertise highly prized and they have over 300 employees at their picturesque site. A new opportunity has arisen for a Technologist in their production and processing research department as part of their new technologies research team. The focus of this role is around emerging process technologies and preservation technologies such as UV, ultrasound, microwave and cold plasma processing. You will need to have knowledge of new food processing technologies and a good degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering
Your main responsibilities will be to conduct practical research and contract work relating to new processing technologies as per client briefs and delver this work in agreed project timelines. You will need to be comfortable with data analysis and interpretation and be happy to work in pilot scale processing as well as having some good knowledge of analytical equipment for generation of data. This is a small team and you will need to be adaptable to fulfil the requirements for project and research work and be able to deliver good oral and written reports to both technical and non-technical audiences. You may from time to time need to travel to client sites, so a full UK/EU driving licence is essential.
