Food Safety Management Systems Specialist - Maternity Cover
Salary: Circa £30K
Our Client is a leading provider of scientific, legislative and technical support to the fast moving food and beverage industry. They have state of the art facilities at their picturesque Gloucestershire site and have a growing business and extensive research and innovation programmes. Their advice and expertise is much sought after in the industry and they are considered leading experts in the field. Within their Food Manufacturing Technologies Department there is a diverse team of 40 Scientists, Technologists and Engineers who work collaboratively to provide support to companies around the globe. The work undertaken int he department is roughly split 50/50 between research based activities and consultancy activities and the consultancy activities are enjoying a period of sustained growth.
The department is broadly split by specialism into Product Innovation, Process Validation, Process Innovation and Food Safety Management. This role would support the team in the Food Safety Management area providing support to the food manufacturing sector. This would involve providing guidance, training and auditing of HACCP systems and pre-audits against industrial standards along with providing your expert guidance on the application of food safety and QMS systems in food manufacturing environments.
You will be a highly credible Food Safety Management professional and be confident and credible to provide training at advanced levels and have excellent time management skills to manage your time and meet deadlines. You will be expected to deliver training materials already developed but also be expected to develop new training materials in this ever changing landscape. You will perform site audits and pre-audits and provide reports and results back to clients so you must have a confident and clear communication style. In addition to this you would also be expected to prepare project proposals and tenders for clients and of course perform internal audits of the department to ensure the company keep to an exceptional standard.
To ensure a highly credible and professional service you should be a graduate in a relevant science subject and have proven experience in the food industry with 3-5 years in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing or food legislation. You should have a formal qualification in HACCP to Level 4 and have practical experience and training in auditing. You will be qualified to Train the Trainer level to have the ability to travel freely within the UK and EU to deliver the business objectives. Your approach should be flexible and enterprising and you should have excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills.
