Our Client is a Leading Testing Laboratory based close to Historic Bath famous for its Roman Baths and the quality of its water. Our client takes pride in ensuring its own reputation, the reputation of the area and the supply of water across the region stay in tip top condition by testing samples to Blue Book standards. The laboratories here test to ensure water borne disease is not a feature in the supply and work hard to deliver timely and accurate results to their clients to keep us all safe from harm when swimming, showering and drinking in our day to day lives.

The group has a new opportunity for a microbiologist with experience of water testing to take the next step in their career and become a team leader within their busy laboratory.

You will use you knowledge of water microbiology to train and manage the team and ensure accurate results are delivered to the highest standards. You will actively manage the workload of the team and organise quality management tasks and motivate the laboratory team ensuring accurate records are kept and that the team are always in compliance with accreditation systems, regulatory, quality and HSE requirements.

You will liaise with clients delivering and approving results and answering queries where necessary and ensure your team are always working to the highest standards possible.

To deliver on this you will need to have a degree is a relevant discipline, a keen eye for detail and experience of water microbiology specifically including Legionella. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to troubleshoot and anticipate issues before they arise. You should have role model leadership qualities and be an example of continual learning and development both of yourself and of your team and have records to show your commitment to professional development. This role would suit an experienced water microbiologist with a passion for developing people.
